3-D LITERACY explores elements of literacy: grammar, phonology, spelling patterns, word meaning, and formation. Our exercises and concepts help students to understand, interpret, create, infer, and communicate.
The program runs for 15 weeks and meets twice a week. (The duration and frequency are adaptable.) In the first section, students learn about different forms of acting. The second section explores vocabulary words through drama-based lessons. The third section focuses on developing the lessons into scenes for a performance.
The program is designed for K-5 and works with general education, 12:1, ICT, IEP, ELL, special education, and gifted students.
3-D LITERACY HELPS STUDENTS TO:
In 2018-19 (the most recent full year of in-person schooling), Sundog’s 3-D Literacy helped raise student reading scores by 5 – 10 levels in 55% of participating students. After this 15-week program, 98% of students raise their reading scores by at least one level. [Evidenced by Fountas & Pinnell, Teachers College, and WRAP testing]
3-D Literacy works in partnership with Sundog Theatre.
Sundog Theatre is a non-profit performing arts organization proving theatre, arts education in schools, touring productions, and drama instruction.
